December

So I didn't do a good job of putting these pictures in order but here they are anyway. We had a blast in December with a lot of fun snow and of course, who can forget Christmas?!
We bought Denzil some snowshoes. He did really awesome with them!
We decided to buy a gingerbread house kit. We had fun making it and of course the kids had fun eating it, even though the candy is super hard and probably super old.
We had fun doing some sledding at the park. Good thing Laura and Adam bought the tubes, they made it extra fun. We also went with the saucer we have a couple times but I think the tubes are way better and more cushy.

Santa was good to the kids this year. He brought Denzil a pirate ship, McKinley a kitchen with plates and some food, and Ruby got some Sesame Street stuffed animals.

Kris and I were lucky enough to get some pretty sweet down jackets. They have been awesome during these cold months.

We decided it would be fun to have our own tree even though there is a very large tree upstairs. I let Denzil cut out a bunch of ornaments from some Christmas scrapbook paper I had. We also went to This is the Place State Park for their Christmas time stuff and we got to make some ornaments there. My mom had some left over gingerbread boys and girls with some houses that we decorated too. It turned out super cute and lots of fun for us.

Ruby turned 7 months in December. It was hard to put a sign in front of her because all she wanted to do was play with the paper.

Ruby also got to have some of her first ice cream and chocolate pie and whatever else Grandpa wanted to give her.
This is the live Nativity at This is the Place. It was so peaceful and beautiful.

Denzil and Kris built a snow cave in the front yard and slept in it. Once Denzil went to sleep he didn't budge until 7:30 the next morning. They then made oatmeal using the camping stove to boil the water and they ate it outside. Very cool!
Denzil and McKinley had their first experience of ice skating. They liked it but McKinley had a hard time and was happy to take off her skates and hang out on the benches for a while.

I love peeking in on my kids while they are sleeping. I sometimes find them in the best positions.

We had our annual grandkid picture. The kids did pretty well. We only had 2 that were pretty sad at some points. I guess 2 out of 16 isn't bad.

November

I am still trying to catch up, so here are a few pictures from November.
We took a little drive to the Ogden Dinosaur park. It was a perfect day. Warm but not too warm and all of the toys were uncovered (last time we went it was all covered in snow). The kids keep asking when we are going again.
This was their favorite because of the dead dinosaur on the ground and all the blood.
We had some fun playing with the horses. Micah is the best horse for the kids. She has never given them a scary experience so they always want to ride when we go there.

Thanksgiving weekend we decided to take a trip to St. George. We hiked in Snow Canyon. This is a picture of Denzil and Kris in a lava tube.
Ruby and I are standing in Jenny's Canyon. It was a pretty cool, small, slot canyon.
Here is Denzil at the end of the Zion Narrows hike. We did the river walk hike to get there. I can't wait until we can do the Narrows as a family. Such a fun hike.
